I have a great deal of experience working with a variety of people. From big name feature directors, to first time independent directors to film students. The key in all of my endeavors is to make sure what the director or producer wants appears on screen.

Bad acting can irreparably ruin an otherwise terrific project. It doesn’t take a genius to notice when an otherwise good film is stopped in its tracks by an actor who isn’t believable.

Too often young directors hire talent for the wrong reasons. From hiring talent because they "look" the part, or "seemed to get the character," the reasons for hiring the wrong talent are endless. My theory of casting is not to hire someone who just happens to look the part, but to hire someone who looks the part and can play the part. Not to just hire someone who "seemed to get the character," but to hire someone who is the character.

Casting can be quick, or can take time. There are far too many actors in the world to settle for second best. I will meet with a producer or director to define what it is they are looking for in talent. It is then my job to find that talent. Whether it’s a named actor, an up-and-coming star or a total unknown. I can see a diamond in the rough. I can also tell when someone may look the part, but needs a bit more coaching, or someone who is acting well, but terrible at direction.
